Basic Campcraft Skills

This course is for volunteers seeking basic skills needed for a group's first outdoor adventure. It includes activities designed to help girls progress from simple exploration of the outdoors to being able to plan, budget and implement and successful outdoor activity. Learn how to tie a square knot, bow hitch, and bowline. Learn how to build a fire and simple outdoor cooking techniques. Learn how to choose appropriate clothing for outdoor activities. This course is recommended as preparation for Troop Camp courses. This course is for adults working with Girl Scouts of all ages. For more information, please refer to the Course Catalog.
