Reaching for the Stars

Reaching for the Stars Speak Today – Change Tomorrow

This year's Fall Product Activity encourages girls to "Reach for the Stars” by using their resources to make a difference in their community and the world. By participating in the Fall Product Activity, girls learn goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

To view the 2011 program materials and many valuable resources; log on to http://www.nutsforknowledge.com and download the activity sheets, selling and safety tips and program and goal-setting tips.

Build your Troop's Treasury! Participating in the 2011 Fall Product Activity is a great way to earn funds. The high quality products offered by Trophy Nut Co. (a GSUSA-licensed product vendor) are easy to sell and troop proceeds are 15% of the sale price! GS Cadette, Senior and Ambassador troops can "opt out" of incentives and receive 20% proceeds for each item sold.

Prices range from $5.00 to $10.00 per nut and candy item. Magazine vouchers are $15.00 and $20.00. Troops do not need to order by the case.

Care to Share
Care to Share is an optional Community Service Project program developed for Girl Scouts.  If a troop decides to participate, they select a charitable organization they would like to help. Examples include a food pantry, shelter or nursing home. While order-taking, girls ask customers if they would like to purchase an additional product as a gift to the designated charitable organization. For 2011, Honey Roasted Peanuts is the designated Care to Share product.

The Care to Share patch will be available for purchase in the GS Shops for $1.00.
