District, neighborhood and troop happenings throughout GSEM

With 60,000 girls and 18,000 volunteers, there's always great news going on in GSEM!

  • Kelly Roth, Girl Scout Cadette, Troop 1698 , was awarded a $500 scholarship at the 16th annual Academy of Science-St. Louis Awards dinner which honored top scientists and engineers from the St. Louis region. Kelly’s participation in the Girl Scout-sponsored FIRST® LEGO® League Robotics Team, G.E.M.S. (Girls of Extraordinary Mind Strength) contributed to her selection for this scholarship.  See Kelly's story on the her school district Web site here.
  • In late June, GSEM Troop 4028 performed the flag ceremony at the 2009 National AAUW (American Association of University Women) Convention attended by almost 1000 women leaders from across the country.  The Cadettes did a fine job, and AAUW must have thought so too -- see the photo on their national Web site - http://www.aauw.org/convention/conv2009/index.cfm!
