You too can earn Girl Scout insignia!

Just as girls earn badges to show their experience and expertise in a given area, adults can earn insignia that show they have invested time and energy to become informed and prepared.

Volunteer Development Program Insignia

Adult Leadership Experience Bars

Adults as well as girls grow through their association with Girl Scouting. The adult Girl Scout experience often parallels the girls’ in many ways.

Adults can earn and wear insignia that reflect their journey through Discovering, Connecting, and Taking Action.

Through meeting the requirements to earn the Adult Leadership Experience Bars (See Adult Development Insignia in Course Catalog), adults can:

  • Discover their own place in the organization and learn how to help girls discover what they value.
  • Learn how their skills Connect to the Girl Scout program and how they can connect with girls and other adults.
  • Prepare to Take Action for the organization and work with girls who are learning how to influence change.

Adults who choose to earn and wear the new insignia are demonstrating their commitment to growing and developing with a dynamic Girl Scout organization.

Workshops

Volunteers who complete five workshops are eligible to purchase a S’More Fun with Workshops patch.

For every additional five workshops completed after the central patch is earned, volunteers can earn a segment.

Certificates of completion should be sent to the District Volunteer Development Registrar (listed in every issue of the GSEM Course Catalog) to receive a Permit to Purchase these insignia.
