On Thursday, February 16, 2012, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri held the Dessert First fundraising event at the Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis. Dessert First is a community event featuring some of the area’s most talented chefs in a culinary competition to create desserts using Girl Scout cookies. Guests were encouraged to taste each of the desserts and vote for the one they like best. Emcees at the event were Ryan Dean and Dana Dean (a Gold Award recipient) from KSDK Channel 5. Our presenting sponsor is Emerson.

Dinner followed, where dessert created by Chef Peter Whitely of the Four Seasons was named The Peoples Choice Award winner and Chef Simone Faure of The Ritz-Carlton was named the Judges Choice Award winner. Girl Scouts recognized Emerson as the Corporate Legacy Builder and Carolyn Losos as the Individual Legacy Builder.  Girl Scouts Carly Beard and Jazmyn Ferguson were awarded $5,000 scholarships for their outstanding achievements in Girl Scouting.
